Botulinum toxin A, often referred to as muscle relaxant injections or Anti-Wrinkle, is a prescription only medication / treatment. It functions by temporarily blocking nerve signals to the muscles, inducing muscle relaxation, and subsequently diminishing the visibility of lines and wrinkles.
The toxin operates in a similar manner but might be identified as either anti-wrinkle or muscle relaxant treatment.
Muscle relaxants are employed to address wrinkles and lines resulting from repetitive muscle contractions, such as smile lines and forehead creases. They function by temporarily reducing the activity of the underlying muscles. Dermal fillers, on the other hand, are utilised to plump up the skin by increasing volume. They are used to fill in wrinkles caused by sagging skin, replenish lost volume due to ageing, or enhance facial features such as the lips and cheeks.
At M.A.L, qualified experts will provide guidance on diverse treatments to enhance damaged skin. Your practitioner will engage in a discussion regarding various aesthetic treatment alternatives, offering insights into what they believe to be the most effective approach for addressing the specific concerns you may have about the damaged area.
Muscle relaxants have proven efficacy in treating numerous facial regions, effectively smoothing out wrinkles caused by facial muscle activity. Commonly treated areas comprise frown lines, crow’s feet, and horizontal forehead lines.
Several patients initiate treatment upon first observing signs of skin damage and the emergence of wrinkles. Others choose to commence treatment when wrinkles become more pronounced. This treatment has been a staple in medical aesthetics for over 30 years, serving to enhance and safeguard the skin. Certain patients have opted for regular treatment from the start, with no reported negative effects observed in those undergoing treatment over an extended duration.
Certainly, muscle relaxant treatment yields favorable results for both, men, and women.
We do not treat women who is pregnant or breastfeeding or under the age of 18 years.
For safety reasons, you cannot have this treatment if you are breastfeeding or pregnant.
The discomfort experienced during this treatment is minimal. We utilise a tiny invisible needle which can barely be felt, and the injection procedure typically concludes within a matter of minutes. For clients who may feel anxious, we offer the option of applying a topical numbing cream for additional comfort.
The injection process itself is brief, typically lasting just a few moments. Your entire visit to the clinic is expected to take half an hour or less.
Many patients express concerns about the potential for restricted facial movements after receiving injections. However, when administered correctly, muscle relaxants should not impair your ability to make natural facial expressions such as frowning or looking surprised. Excessive use of muscle relaxants can lead to an unnatural, frozen appearance, underscoring the importance of careful selection when opting for aesthetic treatments. At My Aesthetic Lounge, our practitioners are highly skilled in administering the appropriate amount of product. You can rest assured that you’ll maintain your natural look and retain full movement of your facial muscles.
Our goal is to achieve a natural-looking outcome. Frequently, individuals familiar with you may notice that you appear healthier, more rested, or rejuvenated. Our skilled practitioners at My Aesthetic Lounge excel at steering clear of the exaggerated, conspicuous, or artificial appearance that can result from excessive product application. Instead, our patients often experience a subtly refreshed look following the treatment.
The answer is no. Typically, results will last for approximately 3-4 months, varying based on the treated facial area and the body’s response to the toxin. It can wear off after as little as 8 weeks in some patients, while in others, they may persist for up to 6 months.
Yes, results can fluctuate, often depending on the strength of your facial muscles and your body’s reaction to the toxin. Occasionally, the body’s immune system may combat the toxin, leading to a very poor outcome or no improvement at all.
It varies based on the area treated, and the individual client. Muscle Relaxants usually last 3-4 months, however, in some cases, they may also last as little as 8 weeks or can last up to 6 months.
The effects of muscle relaxant injections typically endure for 3-4 months, varying based on the treated area. As the effects gradually diminish, the skin will revert to its natural, pre-treatment state. Opting against further injections will maintain your skin in condition as it was before treatment; there won’t be any additional wrinkling beyond its pre-treatment state.
A minimum of 12 weeks is required between each full treatment session. Exposing yourself to the toxin too frequently can prompt your body to produce antibodies that resist the treatment, potentially rendering it ineffective.
The effects of anti-wrinkle injections naturally diminish over time, typically within about 3-4 months.
Alongside smoothing existing wrinkles, muscle relaxant injections possess the capacity to deter the formation of new wrinkles.
Immediately following the procedure, clients may experience minor side effects such as redness, swelling, and bruising, along with some tenderness in the treated area. These effects typically subside within 2-3 days and do not stop clients from resuming their regular activities, including work. It takes around 4 to 10 days for the effects of the treatment to become noticeable, and often continue to improve for up to 30 days post-treatment.
